Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Chemical Peel.

During a Chemical Peel we cleanse the skin, apply a tailored chemical solution, then neutralize it. You may feel tingling or mild stinging for several minutes. Treatment lasts about 20–45 minutes depending on peel depth, with immediate redness and progressive peeling afterward.

Recovery varies by peel strength: superficial peels often have 3–7 days of peeling and redness, while medium peels require 7–14 days. Deep peels need longer recovery and medical supervision. Avoid sun, follow aftercare, and expect gradual improvement over weeks.

The number of sessions depends on your skin concerns and peel type. Superficial peels may need one to three sessions for maintenance, while medium-depth peels often require a series of three to six. Your provider will recommend a personalized plan during consultation.

Most skin types can benefit, but darker tones require careful peel selection and preconditioning to reduce pigmentation risks. Our providers perform a skin assessment and patch testing to choose safe, effective formulas and depths tailored to your skin type and concerns.

Avoid retinoids, acids, waxing, and prolonged sun exposure for at least one to two weeks before your appointment. Disclose medications and recent treatments. Arrive with clean skin; follow any preconditioning plan your provider prescribes to optimize safety and results.

Aftercare includes gentle cleansing, regular moisturization, and daily broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect new skin. Avoid picking, exfoliants, and active ingredients until cleared. Expect peeling and sensitivity; follow cooling and hydration recommendations and attend follow-up visits as directed.
